Photos: A Day at the Beach

We headed to the beach over the weekend. We were headed to Malibu, but the traffic was a bit heavy so we stopped off at Santa Monica.

It was a bit chilly and cloudy, as you can see from the photos, so we headed over to a local watering hole in Venice. The sun finally came out, and life was good. We made some new friends in Venice, and before we knew it, we ended up at a drum circle on Venice Beach, and I thought, this is what a day at the beach is all about.

Bradley is the eye of the camera. I really enjoyed his long shots. Photographs are images lost in time and space. We the viewer enjoy that unique moment that Bradley’s eye and that of the camera lens has captured for all of posterity through his photography online . Beaches can be beautiful in their stark honesty when they are not peppered in the boundless expanse of human flesh and gaily colored umbrellas. The sand, the dunes and the surf are the perfect marriage between land and water kissed by the cerulean sky. Photography can be brilliant like the Technicolor world that that exists in the movies, or photography can be the muted tones of sepia and old images softened by time. In a way the photo becomes the actual sight that melds time. The human eye becomes the quick sketch that emblazons the image to the most mundane compartments of our life. Good job Bradley, it takes an artist’s eye to see the world as you do.
